If your treadmill or trainer connects over Bluetooth, pair it. TerraFlo finds the controls, the signals, and the limits. You start the belt.
What pairing finds
When you pair over Bluetooth, TerraFlo discovers the controls the machine accepts, the signals it sends, and the limits it reports. It keeps learning that setup over time. You do not fill in a spec sheet. Incline and resistance still depend on what that unit exposes.
Unlisted models still pair
If your treadmill, trainer, or sensor connects over Bluetooth, TerraFlo pairs it and learns the controls, the signals, and the limits. You start the belt.
Apple TV and displays
The TV is a first-class screen so the road is large enough to use from a treadmill or trainer.
Sensors that take priority
A chest strap outranks watch heart rate, which outranks equipment-embedded readings, so the number on screen is your best connected source.
Watches and trackers
Apple Watch and Wear OS watches can add live heart rate and workout recording during a session where supported.

Treadmills
These rows are Bluetooth FTMS treadmills. TerraFlo reads belt speed and can set incline when the console exposes that control. The families written up here include Horizon, Sole, Spirit, Life Fitness, 3G Cardio, Domyos, the Bowflex T9, XTERRA, and BodyCraft. Many more treadmills speak FTMS. If yours connects over Bluetooth, pair it.

iFIT consoles are not full FTMS
NordicTrack and ProForm run iFIT. Pairing on these consoles is limited. It is not full FTMS. Headphones and heart rate are what the deck sends. Belt speed and incline stay on the machine. Paced video needs a belt sensor such as the NPE Runn. TerraFlo does not ask you to change the console software.

A belt sensor when the treadmill stays quiet
If the treadmill does not send belt speed over Bluetooth, a clip-on sensor can. The NPE Runn mounts on the frame, reads the belt, and broadcasts speed, cadence, and incline over Bluetooth so TerraFlo can pace the video from how fast you are actually walking or running.
It does not start the belt, and it does not move incline on the machine. That still happens at the console.
This is the practical path on iFIT decks, and it also helps older treadmills that only have speaker Bluetooth.
Smart trainers
Smart trainers are a different machine. Wahoo and Saris H3/M2 use standard Bluetooth FTMS. Tacx is open to third-party apps, with a split: NEO 3M speaks FTMS, and NEO 2T does not.
