When you pair over Bluetooth, TerraFlo uses speed and power to pace the video. NEO 3M speaks FTMS; NEO 2T uses FE-C and FEC-over-BLE.

Ride TerraFlo routes on a Tacx trainer
Tacx is open to third-party apps. Bluetooth control is the catch: NEO 3M speaks FTMS; NEO 2T does not.
Where this family stands
Tacx smart trainers connect to third-party apps over Bluetooth and ANT+ FE-C. They are not a Garmin-only lock-in for a normal ride. Firmware and some pairing settings live in the Tacx Training app.
Newer units (NEO 3M, NEO Bike Plus, and FLUX 2 on current firmware) speak standard Bluetooth FTMS, so TerraFlo can pace video from speed and power and send grade on that radio.
NEO 2T, Flow, and Bushido do not implement FTMS. They use ANT+ FE-C and Tacx’s own FEC-over-BLE. If your trainer is a NEO 2T, TerraFlo will use what that unit actually broadcasts. That radio is FE-C and FEC-over-BLE, not FTMS.
Road Feel and other extras need Garmin’s private Tacx Trainer Service. That is not the basic control path, and TerraFlo does not claim it. Alpine uses a different radio.

What happens when you pair
When you pair over Bluetooth, TerraFlo discovers which telemetry the machine sends, which controls it accepts, and where its limits are. It keeps learning that setup over time.
If your Tacx model does not respond over Bluetooth, send the exact model name from the Beta page.
Grade-shaped resistance
Route grade can shape resistance on the protocol that unit speaks. Incline percentages are machine specs, not TerraFlo-verified control.
Your data stays yours
Completed sessions are private by default and can export to Strava, Apple Health, Health Connect, or TCX where supported.
